Thanks to Dennis at The Moderate Republican, I have found a new method to communicate with everyone. My name is Bob Faust and I am running for Congress from the State of Colorado against Marilyn Musgrave in the August Republican Primary. This is an introduction blog and I will release future blogs defining my primary platform of Equal Rights for All people, National Healthcare, Fiscal Responsibility and a National University Program. I look forward to your comments regarding the topics and ideas.
Sincerely,
Bob Faust
Candidate, 4th Congressional District
Well, your blog has been up for a full day now. It's a sad commentary that the first reply is from out of state, and that although I support you, I can't even vote for you.
I guess the topic I'd like to see is "Is the Republican party salvagable, or has it completely surrendered to extremism?", and "Will we see bipartisan cooperation before we have another civil war?".
Although I have been a Republican in the past, I am currently a registered Democrat for now. I find them to be extremists too, and will be changing to Libertarian, who I only concider to be idealistic flakes. If there is ever a Republican (or Democratic) party that puts the interests of the people of the United States above special interests and partisan domination, I may be back.
We'll see how this blog goes. Maybe I'll throw you a few bucks again. Keep up the cause.
Posted by: William Bollinger at June 30, 2004 03:23 PMI think you would benefit by having
* a link to http://www.faust4congress.com/ here on the blog
* a link to this blog on http://www.faust4congress.com/
* a "contribute" button on the blog similar to the one on the Faust web site.
* and, if you've been able, in such a short time, to get someone to host "meetups", put up a "meetup" button on the blog.
Good Luck Bob, I wish you the best.
Posted by: dorsano at June 30, 2004 07:09 PMThanks for the support. As to support from out of state. You are correct. Since Stan (D) announced he would run against Marilyn in the November election, all the support I had from the D and I went his way. Sad part is, Stan will not defeat Marilyn in November. He lost to her two years ago by a 55 - 40 margin. According to his own polls, she leads him 49 - 45. According to Marilyn polls, she leads 62 - 30. I figure the truth is about what it was two years ago. The only way to defeat her is in the primaries. I will work on the suggestions. The meetups I am working on. Hoping to schedule them for Saturdays in July and August. I appreciate all the comments, suggestions and support.
Take Care
Bob
Bob,
Have you done any internal polling? I'm curious to see how you are doing.
As Dorsano would say, keep hitting the pavement.
Also, let me know if you might need an extra hand. Since I'm between jobs, I might be able to travel to Colorado sometime in the future, not making promises.
Also, I'm also willing to call people in the area. I have a voice over internet home phone so I pay the same rate monthly.
Let me know how I can help and get more postings on this site!

I am encouraged to see a Republican take up such causes as the ERA and the Right to Work initiative. I'm also appreciative of your quick response to my email. I have read your website and I think you make a great alternative to Musgrave. However, I would still like to see more on your website concerning the following items: environment and conservation (an issue particularly important to those of who grew up in Colorado) and foreign policy, and abortion. Thank you.
